พระสมเด็จปิลันทน์ พิมพ์ปรกโพธิ์เล็ก

"พระสมเด็จพระพุทธุปบาทปิลันทน์"สร้างโดยหม่อมเจ้าสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์ ทัด เสนีวงศ์ พระสมเด็จปิลันทน์ วัดระฆังถ้าจะเรียกให้ถูกต้องเต็มความก็คือ พระสมเด็จพระพุทธบาทปิลันทน์ สร้างโดยหม่อมเจ้าสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์ ทัด เสนีวงศ์ ในสมัยที่ท่านดำรงสมณศักดิ์ที่ หม่อมเจ้าพระพุทธุปบาทปิลันทน์ ณ วัดระฆังฯ ท่านทรงเป็นศิษย์เอกของเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์ โต พรหมรังสี นับตั้งแต่ทรงช่วยเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จฯ สร้างพระสมเด็จฯ เป็นต้นมา และได้ทรงสร้างพระเครื่องฯ ของท่านขึ้นมาบ้างในปีพ.ศ. 2411 ภายหลังจากที่เจ้าประคุณสมเด็จฯ ได้สร้างพระสมเด็จฯ มาแล้ว 2 ปี แต่มิได้ทรงสร้างโดยลำพังพระองค์เดียว หากอาราธนาให้เจ้าประคุณสมเด็จฯ ร่วมสร้างด้วย และขอผงวิเศษห้าประการของเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จฯ มาเป็นอิทธิวัตถุผสมเป็นหลักของมวลสาร ดังนั้น พระเครื่องฯ ชนิดนี้คนรุ่นเก่าๆ ที่ทราบประวัติการสร้างจึงนิยมเรียกว่า "พระสองสมเด็จฯ" แต่นักนิยมพระเครื่องทั่วๆไปนิยมเรียกว่า "พระสมเด็จปิลันทน์" เมื่อเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จฯ สิ้นแล้วท่านจึงได้บรรจุพระเครื่องฯ เหล่านี้ไว้ในพระเจดีย์องค์หนึ่ง ซึ่งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของพระอุโบสถ โดยอุทิศส่วนกุศลถวายเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์ โต พรหมรังสี ผู้เป็นพระอาจารย์ พระสมเด็จปิลันทน์ วัดระฆังเป็นพระเครื่องเนื้อผงใบลานเผา เนื้อออกสีเทาๆ เป็นส่วนใหญ่ ที่ออกเป็นสีดำก็มีบ้าง และมีเนื้อออกสีขาวอมเหลืองก็มีแต่เป็นส่วนน้อย พระสมเด็จปิลันทน์นั้นบางส่วนก็แจกออกไปก่อนที่จะได้บรรจุกรุ พระในส่วนนี้จะไม่ปรากฏคราบกรุและคราบไขจะมีบ้างก็น้อย พระส่วนใหญ่เป็นพระที่ถูกบรรจุไว้ในกรุ ผิวของพระจึงปรากฏคราบกรุและไขขึ้น คราบไขนี้จะแข็งมาก ส่วนพิมพ์ของ พระสมเด็จปิลันทน์ วัดระฆัง นั้นมีมากมายหลายพิมพ์พระพุทธบาทปิลันทน์ สามารถแบ่งพิมพ์ทรงออกได้เป็น 2 ลักษณะ คือ โค้งมนแบบเล็บมือ และ รูปทรงสี่เหลี่ยมแบบพระสมเด็จ ขอบพิมพ์และการตัดขอบข้างประณีตได้มาตรฐาน ด้านหลังมีทั้งแบบหลังเรียบและหลังนูน แบบหลังเรียบจะพบกับพิมพ์รูปทรงสี่เหลี่ยม ส่วนแบบหลังนูนจะเป็นทรงโค้งมนแบบเล็บมือ บางองค์ก็มีรอยนิ้วมือปรากฏลางๆ และบางองค์ก็มีการจารหรือลงอักขระ โดยที่พบเห็นจะจารยันต์ตัวเดียว พิมพ์ต่างๆ ของ ‘พระพุทธบาทปิลันทน์’ มีอาทิ พิมพ์ซุ้มประตู, พิมพ์ครอบแก้วใหญ่, พิมพ์เปลวเพลิง, พิมพ์โมคัลลาน์-สารีบุตร, พิมพ์หยดแป้ง และพิมพ์ปิดตา ฯลฯ ซึ่งล้วนเป็นที่นิยมสะสมในแวดวงนักนิยมสะสมพระเครื่อง ตามรูปที่โชว์เป็นพระแท้ สวยเดิมๆ ไม่มีอุดซ่อม
